Senior Web Engineer

Position Summary

This Senior Web Engineer position will be focused on development and design; specifically, the person will work with the management team and other engineers to identify requirements, design, implement, and maintain new and existing high-visibility, high-traffic customer facing and company-internal web applications in a predominantly Linux/Java/JSP/Servlets/JDBC/Struts/SQL environment. The successful candidate will have a passion for creating scalable, innovative web applications. Location is Waltham, MA.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years experience developing web applications in Java
• Strong server-side Java background (JSP/Servlets/JDBC/XML/XSLT/Struts/SQL)
• Linux experience is desirable
• Database administration and/or reporting experience desirable
• MS Visual Basic/IIS/ASP experience desirable
• Self-motivated, thrives in an intense, dynamic environment and finds creative solutions
• Creative problem solver, architect, designer, and mentor
• Ability to work and solve problems independently
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Can write a specification from product requirements and do technical design and architecture
• Ability to work effectively in a team
• Has consistently been among the top engineers on their team
